Library Services

Internet Availability

The library has high speed Internet access on seven computers, all of which are also used to access the library's database catalog. None of these computers has other software (such as Word, Powerpoint, etc.) loaded on them. If somone is waiting to use either the Internet or catalog, a maximum use time limit of 20 minutes will be enforced. Certain restrictions on game playing, instant messaging, email and other recreational Internet uses may be enforced when other patrons are waiting to use terminals for research purposes, or when such use causes disruptions for other patrons or staff. We also offer a wireless "hot spot" connection that can be used, free of charge, in conjunction with your own personal laptop computer. The connection is accessible throughout the library.

Copiers, FAX and Scanner

The library has a copier that makes black and white copies for a charge of $.15 per copy. The copier also reduces, enlarges and collates material. A FAX machine is available for both sending and receiving faxes. The cost for sending is $1.00 for the first page to New Jersey numbers, $2.00 for numbers in the continental United States, and $3.00 for numbers out of the country. There is a charge of $.50 per each additional page for all non-local numbers. All incoming faxes cost $1.00 for the first page and $.50 for each subsequent page. A scanner is available for use on a non-Internet computer. The charge for printing is $.15 for black and white and $.25 per color copy.

Personal Use Computers and Software

The library has four non-Internet computers that are available for personal use. The personal use software available is Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and Excel. All personal use computers run from the Mircrosoft Windows XP operating system. One computer is connected to a scanner. Printing costs are $.15 per page for black and white and $.25 per page for color. One computer is connected to a black and white laser printer; the others are connected to dot-matrix color/ black and white printers. Floppy discs are available for $1.00.

Notary Public

One of our regular staff members is a Notary Public. Her notary services are available on a walk-in basis. An appropriate donation to the library in return for this free service is welcomed but not required. Please call 391-2323 before visiting the library to make sure the Notary will be in the building at the time you plan to arrive.
